The Jacques Offenbach Grand Prix history (2021-2026)
- The "Jacques Offenbach Grand Prix" project is an idea of the mezzo-soprano/cellist and artistic director of Skull of Yorick Productions, Kassandra Dimopoulou who is also the project manager.
- It began in 2021 in Bad Ems as part of the "Festival Gegen den Strom."
- Due to the pandemic, the first year was held entirely online, allowing the public to vote as well online.
- In 2022, however, the final stages of the event took place live in the historical Marmorsaal in Bad Ems.
- After a three-year break, the project is now part of the first "Offenbachiade" and will take place on Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th, 2026 in two historic halls in Bad Ems: in the Brunnenhalle (the Fountain Hall) in Häckers Hotel and the Marmorsaal (the Marble Hall).
